Do I need an account?
No. Joust is anonymous, so you can watch, chat, and even go on stage to debate without signing up.
How does matching work?
Pick categories or add tags, then hit “Find a debate.” We pair you with another waiting user who shares an interest and drop you both into a public room as opposing debaters. Viewers can watch instantly.
Do I have to be on camera?
Only if you’re debating. Going on stage requires a working camera and mic. If you just want to watch and chat, no camera is needed.
How is the debate kept fair?
When someone’s waiting in line, a timer starts and seats rotate so everyone gets a turn. Viewers can raise a 🟥 flag to vote out a debater or 🟩 to add time. Admins and featured-room moderators can mute, kick, or ban.
What’s not allowed?
No nudity, explicit content, harassment, or hate. Keep it to good-faith debate. Breaking the rules gets you removed and banned. See our Rules for details.
